New autonomous technology and operational intelligence capabilities help organizations improve quality, efficiency, and performance at scale.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA. (October 15, 2026) SoftBank Robotics America, a Physical AI Orchestrator, today announced its solutions portfolio is expanding with new capabilities that will enable enterprises to deploy, manage, and continuously improve automation performance across complex operations.
The expansion includes Marvel, an autonomous floor care solution designed for demanding commercial and industrial environments, and new capabilities within SoftBank Robotics Connect that provide greater visibility into task completion and operational performance. Together, these capabilities support organizations moving toward enterprise-scale automation programs that deliver consistent, high-quality, and measurable outcomes.
Marvel is ideal for aviation environments, as well as retail/shopping centers, warehouses, distribution centers, and other industrial facilities where large floor areas, high traffic, and demanding operating schedules create significant opportunities for automation.
“Enterprise customers are looking for the right technologies to solve their most pressing operational challenges and a partner that can make those technologies work reliably, measurably, and at scale,” said Kate Kidd, Vice President of Product and SBX, SoftBank Robotics America. “Our role is to understand the business and use cases first, identify the technologies that can deliver the greatest value, and then provide the software, services, data, and operating model required to make automation successful.”
Raising the Standard for Autonomous Floor Care
Marvel represents an important evolution in autonomous floor care by combining sweeping and scrubbing capabilities within a single motion.
Effective scrubbing requires debris and dust to be removed first. In dynamic environments such as airports and retail locations, however, new dirt and debris can accumulate between the first step of dust mopping or sweeping and the second step of scrubbing, potentially compromising the end result and leaving streaky floors.
Marvel addresses this challenge by enabling dust and debris removal immediately before scrubbing within a coordinated cleaning process. This helps organizations automate more of the end-to-end standard operating procedure (SOP) in a single pass, reducing manual intervention while supporting more consistent, high-quality cleaning outcomes.
Marvel is designed specifically for enterprise operating environments. Marvel enables higher program uptime by utilizing automated robot cleaning functions such as self-rinsing recovery tanks and tool-free quick release components, which make maintenance and inspection easier and faster. In addition, Marvel's maintenance layout closely resembles the conventional floor care equipment that operators already understand, enabling faster, more intuitive operation. Together, these capabilities can reduce the team member time required to operate autonomous floor care programs, allowing teams to redirect time toward higher-value tasks.
For aviation, in particular, large floor areas, heavy passenger foot traffic, and limited cleaning windows create unique operational challenges. Marvel provides an opportunity to automate more of the floor care workflows in less time than the traditional two-step manual and automated process, while maintaining consistent outcomes.
Turning Robot Data into Operational Intelligence
Traditional robot metrics such as runtime can indicate utilization but not necessarily demonstrate whether the work was completed consistently with the SOP. This gap is amplified at a portfolio level, where multiple locations reporting runtime metrics do not necessarily demonstrate whether they met the cleaning requirements for that period. This can become a fleet management headache.
SoftBank Robotics Connect addresses this challenge by giving customers a consistent view across every robot they operate in a true portfolio view. And now, SoftBank Robotics Connect introduces new route management and route naming capabilities, giving operators greater visibility into performance and task completion at the route level, which is essential for SOP management. Seasonal schedules, closures, and retired routes can be adjusted so that utilization metrics will not be skewed, and built-in tools flag dormant routes and reporting gaps so customers can resolve them on their own.
By providing consistent data through a common platform, SoftBank Robotics Connect enables enterprises to move beyond managing individual pieces of equipment toward portfolio governance which includes multiple manufacturers (and models) across multiple sites as an integrated operational program.
"Every robot we add to the portfolio should make our customers' data more valuable, not more fragmented," said Zohra Mohamadi, Director of Technical Product and Engineering, SoftBank Robotics America. "Route management puts customers in control of what gets measured and when, so their reporting reflects how operations actually run."
Building the Foundation for the Next Generation of Physical AI
This portfolio expansion reflects SoftBank Robotics America’s broader strategy as a Physical AI Orchestrator: bringing together the right technologies, partners, people, processes, services, and data to integrate autonomous solutions into enterprise operations and deliver measurable business outcomes.
It also creates the foundation for SoftBank Robotics America’s next evolution in enterprise automation.
